360bubble in Hawai'i at the World Conservation Congress - Google & Sylvia Earle!

Posted by Jon Slayer on

A short video showing the booth and presentation featuring 360bubble at the IUCN WCC 2016 in Hawai'i.

360bubble featured in Google Expeditions presentation at IUCN World Conservation Congress.

What a pleasure to see 360bubble featured by Google in their Street View Expeditions presentation at the IUCN World Conservation Congress in Hawai'i in early September. The recent introduction of several consumer friendly 360 cameras has allowed a great increase in user generated 360 content for Street View and now 360bubble is equipping those users to add underwater content!

We also had the privilege of sharing the booth of our partners at Mission Blue - Sylvia Earle Alliance. 360bubble garnered plenty of interest and we enjoyed sharing with all the great people who spoke with us. After meeting you all there we would really like to hear from you - particularly your thoughts on where 360bubble might be used in research and conservation projects. We are open to adjusting the design or customizing for a specific use so let us hear your ideas!

Blue Ventures trialing 360bubble in remote Madagascar

Meanwhile Blue Ventures have given us our most remote purchase yet carrying 360bubble to a distant corner of Madagascar to use in their volunteer and research program at their expedition site in Andavadoaka, Madagascar. We are really looking forward to seeing the results from the fourth largest barrier reef in the world which is situated just offshore of the village there. We will keep you posted with the results!

Until then enjoy the video below - 360bubble footage from the Maui Ocean Center's Open Ocean Tank. How many sharks can you count? I believe there were 21 in the tank with us!

How many sharks can you count in the Open Ocean Tank of Maui Ocean Center?

We look forward to seeing you underwater soon!
